Balsa Matchsticks (90)

Balsa Matchsticks are skinny square sticks of soft balsa wood. They make great foot toys for small parrots to nibble on and hold with their feet. Quaker Parrots might like to weave these, replicating nest building behaviours. You can place the matchsticks in your birds foraging tray or peg them to your birds’ cage bars (see Stainless Steel Pegs).

As the name suggests, these pieces are the same size as a standard matchstick. They come as a bundle of 90 and each Balsa Matchstick measures 9cm long and 3mm square. They are too small to poke or drill a hole in for toy making but can be stuffed into baskets and used as foraging substrate or chewing treats. Please note that if postage is under $9 with Australia Post, your parcel will be sent as a letter and the bundle of matchsticks will be opened to sit less than 2cm thick. If your order is sent as a parcel, the matchsticks will be bundled as pictured.
