Delivery Delays

Delivery Delays

The Covid-19 lockdowns in NSW, ACT and VIC are contributing to very high parcel volumes being delivered in these areas. This can cause some delivery delays and is affecting all carriers (Australia Post and Aramex, formerly Fastway are the main 2 I use).

Thankfully, areas that are not in lockdown have not been too severely affected. This includes Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania. I’m seeing a lot of tracking evidence that carriers are working hard to deliver parcels quickly, with some orders even being delivered on a Sunday! Parcels to Perth may be affected by Sydney delays, due to transferring from truck to trainline at this point.

Recently (during late August/early September) it appears that deliveries to Sydney via Aramex have been taking 2 weeks and a little longer to be delivered. Parcels sent with Australia Post have generally been faster, though may experience some delays too.

While the courier offers a convenient flat rate and Australia Post can cost more, it is recommended to select Australia Post and consider choosing express if you don’t want to wait too long for your parcel delivery.
Particularly for fresh, natural bird toys, please consider express post if you’re in an affected area.

Of course, if ordering non-perishable items and if you’re not in a rush, choose your preferred option. This information is not intended to discourage you from ordering, as many orders are still being delivered in a very reasonable time frame. This post is to inform you and ensure delivery expectations are realistic.
