Cockatiel Beginner Set Up

A handy, easy to use 'sundeck' platform for your bird to relax on. The arms hook onto the horizontal bars of the cage and the platform sits flat below it. These are versatile items that suit most cage designs. Pop this platform high up in your birds cage as a nice roosting spot or at another level, with foot toys as a play area for your parrot. It can also be handy to place this near to a bolt-on foraging toy to provide access to that level of the cage. Popular with all birds, these are great for handicapped parrots, with mobility or stability issues too.

The platform measures 20cm wide, 16cm deep and the arms are 10cm tall (the platform will sit 10cm below the horizontal bars that it hooks onto). Covering the platform for your birds' perching comfort, is a piece of woven seagrass mat. I have cleaned and dried these mats, so they are safe for your bird to chew and good for their feet. Replacement mats can be purchased for when the mat gets chewed.

Balsa is a very soft timber that is satisfying to chew and is a favourite for many small parrots. I made this toy as a birthday present for Larry the female Cockatiel, who is owned by one of my wonderful customers. This toy incorporates long, thin slats of balsa, with some colourful beads and a small pacifier at the bottom, all threaded onto stainless steel wire. A loop is made at the top of the toy to attach a hanging link to. The toy measures roughly 17cm tall and 15cm wide and the balsa can be fanned out or laid flat depending on your cage set up. The colour/style of the pony beads can vary depending on availability.

Fantastic for Budgies, Lovebirds, Cockatiels, Conures and Quakers. This toy doesn't normally come with a hanging link, but I will attach a normal nickel plated one for you as part of this pack.

The popular Vine Tweeter Totter toy, made by Super Bird Creations, is a cute fun toy for the little ones. Your small parrot will enjoy exploring, chewing and preening at the shredded crinkly paper that explodes out of the 4cm vine ball, playing with the small vine rings that hang from the horizontal paddlepop bar, jingling the bell and turning the timber beads.

All parts are cotton free and colouring is food safe dye. It comes with nickel plated hardware, including a pear clip.

A great shreddable toy that your companion parrot will love! Made with natural, woven plant material, it truly is designed for beaks that love to chew and nibble. Measures roughly 3cm thick, 9cm wide and 25cm tall, including the natural rope loop it hangs from. This toy normally doesn't come with a hanging link, but I have included a nickel plated pear clip in this pack, to match the other toys.

These bolt on perches are a great addition to your birds' cage. They are easy to attach to the inside or outside of the cage and can also be used in aviaries. Each natural branch has been hand selected by me from safe, native trees and all have bark on them, so they're great for your parrot to chew as well as being good for their feet and beak. There is a mix of Paperbark, Bottle Brush, Wattle, Eucalypt and other native branches.
Each perch measures 20cm long, while the diameter will vary depending on availability. You can choose from thick or thin options here.
